Milesight UR75 Industrial 5G Router
28th May 2026
Milesight UR75
A rugged, high-performance 5G router built for demanding IoT and M2M deployments. Quad-core ARM Cortex-A55 processor, dual SIM, Wi-Fi 6, GPS, and full serial/I-O interfaces – hardened for operation from -40 degrees C to +70 degrees C.
The Milesight UR75 is the flagship 5G industrial router in the Milesight UR series. Where the UR35 tops out at 4G Cat 12, the UR75 moves to 5G Sub-6GHz with SA and NSA mode support, delivering theoretical downlink speeds of up to 4.67 Gbps via dual carrier aggregation. It keeps everything operators and integrators already rely on from Milesight – dual SIM failover, RS232/RS485 serial ports, digital I/O, GNSS, and Milesight DeviceHub for remote management – and adds a significantly faster cellular stack and Wi-Fi 6 connectivity.
Two variants are available. Both include Wi-Fi 6 dual-band, GPS, dual SIM, and the full serial and I/O interface set. The only difference is PoE. UR75-504AE-P-W2 adds 802.3af/at PoE PSE output across all four LAN ports – 30W per port, 60W total – making it the right choice where downstream devices such as IP cameras, LoRaWAN gateways, or access points need power over Ethernet. UR75-504AE-W2 omits PoE for deployments where it is not needed, with a marginally lower maximum power draw as a result.
Key Features
5G Sub-6GHz – SA and NSA
Supports 5G Standalone and Non-Standalone modes. Bands N1/N3/N5/N7/N8/N20/N28/N38/N40/N41/N77/N78 plus full 4G LTE FDD/TDD and WCDMA fallback. Dual carrier aggregation to 4.67 Gbps downlink.

What Is the Milesight UR75 Used For?
Smart Grid and Energy Infrastructure
The RS485 port supports Modbus RTU to Modbus TCP translation, making the UR75 a direct fit for SCADA polling of meters, inverters, and switchgear. Dual SIM across different MNOs provides the redundancy required under NIS/CSRB frameworks. GNSS enables IEC 61850 precision timestamping without a separate GPS NTP server.
Industrial Automation and Digital Factory
5G SA with low-latency connectivity suits time-sensitive manufacturing applications. The DI/DO ports can trigger alerts via SMS or MQTT on production line events. Node-RED is built in, so edge logic can run on the device without additional hardware.
Digital Signage and Media
4.67 Gbps peak downlink handles large-format 4K content updates without buffering. Wi-Fi 6 on both variants can simultaneously serve multiple local screens or kiosk devices. The M.2 NVMe slot provides local storage for content caching.
Fleet, Vehicle, and Asset Tracking
GPS/GLONASS/BeiDou/Galileo multi-constellation GNSS with NMEA 0183 output covers demanding tracking accuracy requirements. The wide supply voltage (9-48 VDC) accommodates 12V and 24V vehicle buses directly. Dual SIM maintains connectivity across network coverage boundaries.
Medical Device Connectivity
MilesightVPN provides encrypted remote access to field devices. ACL, DMZ, SYN-Flood protection, and IP/domain filtering meet the network security requirements of healthcare IT departments. DeviceHub supports bulk firmware updates without physical access.
PoE-Powered IoT Deployments (UR75-504AE-P-W2)
Four 802.3af/at PoE LAN ports eliminate separate injectors when connecting IP cameras, LoRaWAN gateways, or access points. Combined with dual SIM cellular backhaul, the UR75-504AE-P-W2 acts as a complete site edge device with one power feed in and four powered devices out.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between UR75-504AE-P-W2 and UR75-504AE-W2?
Both variants are identical in cellular specification, processor, memory, Wi-Fi 6, GPS, serial ports, DI/DO, and industrial housing. The sole difference is PoE. The UR75-504AE-P-W2 provides 802.3af/at PoE PSE output on all four LAN ports (30W per port, 60W total budget), which is useful for powering IP cameras, LoRaWAN gateways, or access points from a single device. The UR75-504AE-W2 omits PoE, resulting in lower maximum power consumption and a simpler power budget for sites where downstream PoE is not needed.
Does the UR75 support 5G Standalone (SA) mode?
Yes. The UR75 supports both 5G NSA (Non-Standalone, anchored to 4G LTE control plane) and 5G SA (Standalone, full 5G core). SA mode is increasingly available on UK networks and offers lower latency. The router automatically negotiates the appropriate mode based on the network.
Can the UR75 be managed remotely without a public IP address?
Yes. MilesightVPN provides secure remote access via an authentication code, so engineers can reach the device and attached local network equipment regardless of whether the SIM has a fixed public IP. For large deployments, Milesight DeviceHub enables bulk firmware updates, configuration pushes, and status monitoring from a central dashboard.
What serial protocols does the UR75 support?
The UR75 supports transparent serial tunnelling (TCP client/server, UDP), Modbus RTU master, and Modbus RTU to Modbus TCP gateway mode. This covers the majority of industrial fieldbus-to-IP translation requirements including energy meters, PLCs, and environmental monitoring equipment connected via RS485 or RS232.
Is the UR75 suitable for vehicle or mobile installations?
Yes. The 9-48 VDC supply voltage covers 12V and 24V vehicle electrical systems without a converter. The -40 degrees C lower operating limit handles cold-start conditions. GPS/GLONASS/BeiDou/Galileo multi-constellation GNSS provides tracking and timing. The compact metal chassis (135 x 115 x 36.4mm) fits standard DIN rail enclosures.
How does the UR75 handle SIM failover?
Automated failover switches between SIM1, SIM2, Ethernet WAN, and Wi-Fi WAN based on link state and connectivity tests. The hardware watchdog monitors the cellular module and OS independently, forcing a controlled reboot if either becomes unresponsive – without requiring remote intervention.
