What Is IoT Portal?
IoT Portal is an independent UK publication covering cellular IoT connectivity, industrial routers, eSIM, and M2M technology. We explain how connectivity actually works in the field — not how vendors say it works.
We write for engineers, network managers, system integrators, and technical decision-makers who need accurate, operational information rather than press releases dressed up as analysis. Our coverage spans hardware reviews, connectivity standards, deployment guides, regulatory changes, and market developments — all with a practical bias and a UK and European focus.
Who We Are
Peter Green — Founder & Senior Editor
Peter has spent over a decade working in and around IoT connectivity, cellular networking, and industrial hardware. His background spans hands-on deployments, vendor evaluation, and technical writing for audiences who actually have to make things work in the field. He started IoT Portal because too much IoT coverage was either surface-level news aggregation or thinly disguised vendor marketing — and there was a clear gap for a publication that prioritised technical depth and editorial independence above all else.
All editorial decisions, article commissions, and technical review standards are set by Peter directly.
What We Cover
Our coverage focuses on the areas that matter most to people deploying and managing connected systems:
- Cellular connectivity — 4G LTE, 5G, NB-IoT, LTE-M, CBRS, and how they perform in real-world industrial environments
- Industrial routers and hardware — independent reviews and comparisons of routers from Teltonika, Robustel, Milesight, Four-Faith, Siretta, and others
- eSIM and SIM technology — eUICC, SGP.22, SGP.32, multi-network SIMs, IMSI provisioning, and the practicalities of remote SIM management
- Security and compliance — NIS2, RED, PSTI, device hardening, and what these regulations actually mean for IoT operators
- Edge computing and platforms — where processing moves to the device, and what that means for architecture decisions
- UK and European IoT market — operator moves, regulatory developments, and market intelligence relevant to UK-based deployments
Editorial Standards
IoT Portal operates editorially independently. We have no parent company, no venture backing, and no obligation to any vendor or operator.
Where we publish sponsored content, hardware supplied for review, or affiliate links, we label these clearly. Our reviews are based on our own technical assessment. A manufacturer supplying hardware for review has no editorial input into what we write about it.
We correct errors promptly and transparently. If you spot something wrong, contact us and we will address it.

For hardware review requests or partnership enquiries: contact us directly. We are selective about what we cover and will only review hardware we believe is genuinely relevant to our readers.
