IoT Product of the Month

Each month I pick one professional IoT product that deserves more attention than it gets. It might be a router, a gateway, a sensor, an antenna or a module. Sometimes it is a new launch. Just as often it is something that got lost in a crowded range and turns out to be better than anyone noticed.

PRODUCT OF THE MONTH IOTPORTAL EDITOR’S PICK Teltonika RUTM20 November 2026 – compact global 5G router eSIM – PoE in and out – 4G to 5G – one SKU

November 2026 pick: Teltonika RUTM20

Teltonika RUTM20 compact 5G router, front view with LAN and WAN Ethernet ports and rear view with six antenna connectors, IoTPortal Product of the Month November 2026
The Teltonika RUTM20, front and rear: global 5G, integrated eSIM and PoE in and out in a 319 g box.

The RUTM20 launched quietly and was easy to forget. When I re-read the specification, it turned out to be the most sensible default router in Teltonika’s range: one part number that covers 4G today and 5G tomorrow, moves operators over the air, and powers the camera next to it.

Verdict: the router to standardise on for small-site and edge deployments. I checked nine rival vendors and found no like-for-like alternative. Read the full RUTM20 review.

How I choose Product of the Month

A product only gets the pick if it passes all five tests:

  1. It solves a real deployment problem. Speed records and feature counts do not win on their own. Fewer site visits, simpler stock or easier installs do.
  2. It beats the alternatives. Every pick is compared with the closest rivals from other manufacturers, and the review says plainly where they win.
  3. The specifications are verified. Claims come from the manufacturer’s own documentation. Anything I cannot confirm stays out.
  4. You can buy it in the UK. No announcements, samples or products you cannot order.
  5. The limits are stated. Every review includes a section on when the product is the wrong choice.

Editorial only. Picks are not sponsored. Manufacturers cannot pay for a pick, do not see the review before publication, and there are no paid or affiliate links in the reviews.
